Sony has announced the new 6 megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S500 digital camera, due to go on sale sometime on or before August 4th for $179.99. This camera features a 3x optical zoom, a 2.4-inch LCD on the back, and 25 MB of internal memory. It boasts several pre-set photo modes, and a 320 x 240 movie mode (30 frames per second).
