Sony DSLR-A100 - Sony has officially unveiled the first product of their agreement with Konica Minolta. The A100 is a 10.2 megapixel digital camera that will be accessorized with 19 Sony lenses, a host of existing Konica Minolta lenses, and other products. Cameratown has all the details.
HP on fire! - The Imaging Resource had the best coverage this week of Hewlett-Packard's firmware update that corrects a problem in the HP R707 digital camera that could cause the product to burn users or catch fire when used with a non-rechargeable battery and connected to its dock or AC adapter.
Leica M-series lenses for digital - Leica is now putting a code on their M-series lenses that can allow the upcoming Leica M digital camera to recognize the lens type. You can read more information about the system and see an example at ePHOTOzine.
Fujifilm Aquamask - Fujifilm has announced this week a shell made for their FinePix A400 and A500 digital cameras. The $79.99 accessory can protect the camera from dust, dirt, and up to 10 feet of water. Read more here.

Cropping Images - Digital Photography School has a nice article on cropping images for greater impact. With the right technique, you can fix some framing mistakes and make a so-so image into a striking photograph.
