Nikon admits editing problems with WinXP

nikon.gifNikon has confirmed several "issues" in Windows XP, which also affects Nikon film scanners. The company has identified two actions within the software that damage Nikon NEF images. The first action is rotating images in one of three ways, and the second is selecting Simple mode and clicking "OK" or "Apply" under the Summary tab of File/Properties.

The company also asks consumers not to use Windows XP to format a CompactFlash card that's going to be used with their digital cameras. Nikon cameras will display an error message when that card is inserted into the camera's slot. The company instructs users to reformat the card in the camera.
