Eastman Kodak is the top-selling digital camera brand for the second straight year in the United States, reporting 28 million sales in 2005. 7.05 million of those cameras went to US retailers. The company now holds 24.9% of the market, according to research firm IDC. Canon is second, with 17.7% of the market, and Sony (the used-to-be first) now ranks third. Nikon, HP, Olympus, and Fuji followed, in that order.
Globally, Kodak ranked third in 2004, and we're still waiting for the global numbers to come in.
