This is issue #23 of Carnival of Digital Cameras and Photography. Carnival of Digital Cameras and Photography is a weekly round-up of all the latest news, trends, digital camera reviews, top blogs, photography tips and professional advice.

Batteries - Duracell announced their new PowerPix digital camera batteries this week, which are optimized for digital cameras. Meanwhile, USA Today had a comparison of digital camera batteries, showing the Engerizer e2 Lithium batteries are the best of the premium batteries.

Cheat Sheet - Gordon McKinney has published a "Cheat Sheet" with all kinds of useful data for photographers at his site.

Intel Inside - As Apple is beginning the roll-out of their new Intel-powered Macs, software makers are rolling out their supporting software. Adobe has made some announcements concerning Lightroom and Creative Suite, and formerly-known-as-Macromedia products, but no dates yet.

Old Olympics Optics - Olympus has launched Olympus History, a look back at the company's history and products. You can see their first camera (from 1936) and other milestones right up to the gee-whiz digital models made today.

Pentax Pares Prices - Pentax has announced a "significant price adjustment" on the *ist DL Kit, according to the release posted on Digital Camera Websites. The $200 price drop took effect on February 1st, so the kit now sells for $599.95.

Printing @ Home - Michael J. McNamara, the Executive Technology Editor at Popular Photography & Imaging magazine, argues in favor of making your own prints. He says this method brings "Freedom, the Ultimate Image Quality, and the Longest Lasting Prints."
