The Nihon Keizai Shimbun is carrying an unsourced report stating that Canon plans to boost digital camera production, with nearly 20 different models in the pipeline for 2006. Canon worldwide sales have risen 14% this year, and they're adding manufacturing facilities to sustain the demand. The company hopes to gain a 30% sales increase through 2008.
