Discover what's below the surface with Olympus underwater and outdoor cases

Hamburg, 26 January 2006 - Swimming, snorkelling and diving are some of the most fun and memorable activities of any summer vacation. So why is it that these moments are rarely seen in the holiday snaps taken back home to be shared with friends and family? With Olympus, there are no more excuses to rely solely on your memories to relive these unique experiences. Offering a range of waterproof cases for many of its cameras, those spectacular scenes of coral reefs and marine life can now be captured with ease and confidence. The cases are constructed from durable yet lightweight polycarbonate and retain all camera functions to provide photographers with full shooting control. And with models available that are waterproof to 3m, 40m or 60m*, there's sure to be a solution for your underwater shooting needs - whether splashing about near the shoreline or for heavy-duty professional requirements.

Outdoor cases for the Stylus 700, FE-130 and FE-140
Ideal for water sports enthusiasts including surfers and snorkellers as well as anyone who enjoys other active pursuits, the Olympus outdoor cases CWPC-02 for the Stylus 700 and CWPC-03 for the FE-130 and FE-140 provide very affordable protection against the elements. Waterproof to 3m*, they open up a whole new dimension to holiday snap-shooters who needn't feel stranded at the shoreline any longer. Due to their compact dimensions and light weight, the outdoor cases can also easily be taken along anywhere else users want to safeguard their investment - such as on rainforest treks during heavy tropical downpours.

Underwater cases for the Stylus 700, Stylus 720 SW and SP-320
Adding almost unimaginable versatility to any camera set up, these underwater cases provide the ability to capture unique images of marine life and other exciting one-of-a-kind scenes from far below the water's surface. The PT-030 (for the SP-310 and the SP-350, and now for the new SP-320), PT-032 (for the Stylus 700) and PT-033 (for the Styls 720 SW), allow photographers the freedom to completely immerse themselves in the adventure and fun of underwater photography. Providing protection against water in up to 40m depth*, these cases are fitted with special weights to ensure optimal buoyancy at all times. In this way, easy handling is assured for trouble-free capture of stunning aquatic scenes. Each case features a detachable hood, which is fitted above the LCD. It enables clear viewing and easy framing - no matter the lighting conditions. Naturally, all normal camera functions are retained and the cases also boast a screw mount for the fitting of converter lenses and filters, if desired, for even greater photo flexibility.

Underwater case for the Olympus E-330
With the PT-E02 case, available from May 2006, together with the Olympus E-330 and fitting lens ports, professional underwater photographers finally have the solution they have long been waiting for. Until now, to capture fascinating underwater scenes in SLR quality, photographers needed to find a way to look through the camera's ocular to accurately frame shots. But this is now a thing of the past. The Olympus E-330 is the world's first** digital SLR to provide continuous live views of subjects directly on the LCD. This is of huge benefit, particularly for underwater photographers, as it makes light work of framing. Diving masks can be kept on while motifs are framed in comfort using the LCD in depths of up to 60m*. More versatility is provided by the special ports available for various Olympus E-System interchangeable lenses to let users fully benefit from the advantages of digital SLR photography. As well as the PPO-E01 for the ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-45mm and 35mm Macro lenses, PPO-E02 for the 11-22mm / 14-54mm lenses and PPO-E03 for the 50mm Macro lens, the PPO-E04 port*** additionally allows wide zoom and fisheye perspectives to be captured together with the corresponding lenses. Further Olympus E-System accessories, such as the FL-36 external flash, can also be safely taken below the water's surface to brighten up scenes that would usually be shrouded in the darkness of the deep (inside the PFL-E01 case and supported by the PTBK-E01 flash bracket).

No matter if taking snaps during snorkelling, enjoying active water sports or for professional underwater photography needs, the Olympus outdoor and underwater cases ensure complete protection and peace of mind.
