kodak.jpgKodak and Ingenico have announced a collaboration agreement that will allow Kodak to add payment terminals to their in-store photofinishing kiosks. The "chip and pin solution" will allow users to pay for their prints while awaiting prints and skip lines in the store. Kodak to introduce Chip and PIN photo kiosks

Kodaks intend to install more than 70,000 Chip and PIN self service photo kiosks worldwide.

Getting prints from your digital pictures has never been easier and is now more secure than ever with the collaboration announcement between Kodak and Ingenico, the world’s leader in secure payment transaction solutions. Initially available in the UK, with plans to roll out across Europe this year, the global agreement will see Ingenico supply a chip and PIN solution for Kodak picture kiosks at retail locations worldwide.

Kodak Picture Kiosk customers will now enjoy a faster more convenient experience using the Ingenico 5100 payment terminal that will allow them to by-pass shop queues and securely pay for their pictures while awaiting prints.

There is now an exploding demand from consumers worldwide wishing to print their digital photos. Kodak was the first to market with the self-serve picture kiosk and is today’s leading supplier with more than 70,000 units installed worldwide. Kodak’s partnership with Ingenico combines a high quality, fast printing process with a fast, secure and simple payment solution.

“Kodak are delighted to offer consumers an easier digital printing experience, which makes it simple to get fast digital prints on the go”, said Claudia Pickholz, European Kiosk SPG Manager, Kodak Consumer Digital Imaging Group. “Ingenico will add to this experience by providing a simple to use, secure payment solution that our customers can trust.”

Malcolm Bushell, Ingenico Vice President Global Sales & Services, said: “Our experience of Kodak’s world markets makes us ideally placed to provide a tailored secure payment solution that builds customer confidence and makes using a Kodak Picture Kiosk an even more convenient and enjoyable experience. Ingenico are committed to the unattended payment market as we see this spreading into every area of self-service purchase. We are delighted that our first major partnership in this area is with an innovative global brand of the standing of Kodak."
