Card Media has introduced the XS-Drive MP3 VP3650, a compact portable hard drive that allows users to back up their memory cards to its 20GB or 40GB hard disk. The device has a backlit LCD screen that displays the battery power level, memory card backup transfer status, all information related to MP3 music player, and file navigation. The XS-Drive VP3650 will accept several kinds of memory cards: Compactflash, Hitachi Microdrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and xD picture cards (Smartmedia requires an adapter). A 1GB card can be backed up in about 8 minutes.

Card Media Introduces XS-Drive VP3650 Portable Photo Backup Device and MP3 Player
The XS-Drive MP3 VP3650 is a compact portable Hard disk to backup your memory cards on the field and benefit from 20GB to 40GB of capacity via its internal 1.8" Hard disk making it very compact and lightweight.
You can easily use the XS Drive MP3 VP3650 in all environments thanks to its Blue Backlit LCD panel. The LCD Panel displays the battery power level, memory card backup transfer status, all information related to MP3 music player, and file navigation.
Using the control buttons, you can navigate through the names of files stored on your XS Drive MP3 Hard disk's to either play music files or simply check that your backed up files are stored on the Hard Disk. You may also access the content of the insert memory card.
You can listen to your favorite tunes via its high quality music MP3 player with selective control modes for the Volume, Fastforward/Rewind on the playing track, and Next/Previous track via the control buttons.
The XS Drive MP3 VP3650 can be used with all types of memory cards: Compactflash, Hitachi Microdrive, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and xD picture cards (Smartmedia requires an adapter). The easy to use copy feature will backup all files from the memory card to a new folder on the hard disk, and the Card Backup feature will confirm the number of files transferred as well as the total size in MegaByte.
The transfer speed of the VP3650 allows you to backup a 1GB memory card in only 8 minutes.
It is also possible to copy a selection of files / folders from the memory card to the HDD, or from the HDD to the memory card, with its selection file copy feature. The similar selection file deletion feature allows you to delete each file stored on the XS-Drive MP3 Hard disk or the memory card inserted.
The XS-Drive MP3 includes built-in internal rechargeable batteries providing 2 hours of use.
The XS-Drive MP3 has a built in 64MB flash memory which can receive MP3 music tracks to allow playing music for 10 hours by reducing the power consumption from the Hard Disk operation.
You can access the files stored on the Hard Drive via your computer with a USB 2.0 high speed connection - you can also use the X'S-Drive Pro as a USB Combo card reader / writer.
Important note about the XS Drive MP3 VP3650: you can format FAT32 the Hard disk so it is fully operating to backup your memory cards when you switch on the VP3650 and with a blank / non-partitioned Hard Disk as you will be prompted to format it by the XS Drive MP3.
