Specifically, he shows you how to use nothing but good old Windows XP to move photos from your camera into the computer, see photos, make a slide show and print, and organize and improve images.

Also, some free programs allow you to organize, edit, crop, or remove red-eye from your photos. His best choice for beginner and intermediate photo editing is Google Picasa. For advanced photo editing, he recommends you forsake Photoshop and download the "just-as-powerful-but-entirely-free"GIMP.
