leafaptus6575.jpgLeaf has introduced Leaf Aptus 75 and Aptus 65 digital backs. Both new models feature a 6 x 7 cm touchscreen that control all digital camera features. The Aptus 75 produces 6726 x 5040 pixel 16-bit images that are about 200 MB each. The Aptus 65 produces 6144 x 4622 pixel images, resulting in 160 MB 16-bit files. The backs can produce uncompressed raw files and have a new compression that reduces raw file sizes by half with no loss. Leaf is also introducing the Leaf Digital Magazine with a 30GB capacity to accommodate the large files.

Both models will have a 3-year warranty option, and there will be upgrade and trade-in programs in place.

The Leaf Aptus 75 will be introduced at PhotoPlus Expo on October 20, 2005, in New York City and will be available through authorized Leaf dealers in November. The Leaf Aptus 65 will be available in Q1 2006.
