Canon has issued a service advisory on early production samples of its EF24-105mm F/4L IS USM lens. Under certain conditions, the lens produces a high amount of flare, most noticible when using the wide zoom and wide aperture settings. To see if your lens is affected, check the control number on the back of the lens. If it's less than UT1000, Canon will repair the lens if it's exhibiting the problem.
