StoryLife Puts the Joy Back Into Photo Holiday Cards
For those bored with the same old- style photo cards, StoryLife.com is looking to provide a more creative solution by being the first online photo service to feature cards with up to four different photos on the same card.
More people are making their own photo cards for the holidays at a time when more digital cameras are being sold than film cameras, says StoryLife founder Cynthia Heigold.
"Many families have trouble selecting one photo for their holiday card. We let them combine several photos to tell a more complete story of their year." Heigold says, "Some customers have even combined their holiday card with a birth announcement or moving announcement."
Customers transfer their photos to their account, choose a design and add their own words. They can choose from hundreds of themed designs or create their own custom background using one of their own photos.
"We are putting the power of digital imaging right in their hands without the need to learn a complicated software package," says Heigold, who spent 20 years in development and marketing at Kodak.
Janine Lizza of Oyster Bay, N.Y., a mother of three, created an announcement featuring three photos to share the story of her son's birth. "I wanted to try something different with baby number three," Lizza says. "I've received so many compliments on my announcements; I'm just looking for an excuse to make up some more cards!"
