Bloomberg is reporting that the Camera & Imaging Products Association says digital camera shipments by Japanese manufacturers will probably rise 8.4% this year, down from a previous estimate of 21%. The manufacturers will ship an estimated 64.8 million units. During the first six months of 2005, global shipments totaled 27.9 million units, which was up 5.5% on the year.
