Wild Boys, Wild Photos

Olympus cameras featuring exclusive photos by Duran Duran up for auction.

Five Olympus u DIGITAL 800 cameras with photos shot by Duran Duran in the last leg of their eighteen month long world tour are up for grabs! On July 2nd 2005, the five original band members played a four-song performance at the Live 8 concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome. Playing some of their biggest hits: Save A Prayer, Ordinary World, Wild Boys and (Reach Up For The) Sunrise, to more than 200,000 people, the band was one of only two British acts to have also played at the original Live Aid some twenty years earlier. Following their performance the five band members flew from Rome to Denmark, where they finished up their European dates with a spectacular appearance at the Roskilde Festival in front of 75,000 fans.

The events of that remarkable day were documented by the band members on five Olympus u DIGITAL 800 cameras that feature weather- proof metal bodies, 3x optical zoom and, with 8 million pixels, amazing picture quality. With new Bright Capture Technology, the large 6.4 cm HyperCrystal LCD provides great views even in low light conditions at parties or concerts. The cameras are now up for charity auction on eBay Germany starting at 1 Euro.

Each of the five cameras will include photographs by the band (stored on a 64 MB xD-Picture Card supplied with the camera) as well as a signed copy of the band’s latest album 'Astronaut'. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Wes Wehmiller Memorial Scholarship Fund which was established by Wes' parents, John & Paula Wehmiller, after their son passed away recently. Wes played bass for Duran Duran during the 1990s and was a good friend. The fund provides scholarships for students at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
