Nikon ad used stolen photo

nikon.gifThe Korea Times reports that a recent Nikon ad in that country used a stolen photo. The owner of the photo, firefighter Lee Tae-young, recognized his picture of a boy holding a digital camera as being the one from his homepage. He posted his findings on SLR Club. He also revealed that the boy wasn't even holding a Nikon product, but a Canon 300D. Nikon changed the logo on the camera to their own.

Nikon's ad agency, Communication It, quickly admitted their use of the photo and removed the ad. The company claimed they intended to use the photo for "reference," but the a mistake led to the picture's inclusion in the ad.
