Kodak is launching the Pixelux line of CMOS sensors and has announced an agreement to license the technology to a manufacturer. CMOS sensors are cheaper to produce than CCD sensors, and can perform more camera functions on a single chip. Kodak will sell the Pixelux sensors to camera phone manufacturers. The company has also announced the CMOS sensors have been certified to work with Texas Instruments processors. You can find more information in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
