DXG USA has announced two 5.1 megapixel digital cameras: the compact DXG-568 (at right) and the ultraslim DXG-552 (click on the headline for a picture). The 568 will sell for $129.99 and the 552 will sell for $139.99. Both models will be available in August.
The DXG-568 will feature a 4x digital zoom, 32 MB built-in memory, SD card slot, 1.5" TFT LCD screen on the back, USB 2.0 output, and 30 frame per second VGA AVI video with sound. There will be a TV-out function for viewing pictures on a television and a direct print capability. The 568 will have 5 white balance settings and 4 still image settings. The camera will also offer the capability to act as a voice recorder and PC webcam.
The DXG-552 offers the same resolution and movie recording features at the 568, but has a 2-inch LCD screen on the back. The camera is .9 inches thick and is about the size as a deck of playing cards.
