NTEEP Commences Production of New Model of EyeToy(TM) Mini USB Camera for Sony PlayStation(R)2
HONG KONG, June 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Nam Tai Electronic and Electrical Products Limited ("NTEEP" or "the Company") (Stock code: 2633), the leading vertically-integrated manufacturing solutions provider of consumer electronics and communications products, is pleased to announce that it has won a new order from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe ("Sony Computer") to build a new silver EyeToy(TM) Mini USB Camera model ("EyeToy 2") for the new Satin Silver PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system.
The design of EyeToy(TM) Mini will inherit the basic functions of the current EyeToy USB Camera, but will be smaller in size and more lightweight to match the new slimline PlayStation 2 model. The EyeToy USB Camera is an accessory of PlayStation 2, which employs motion-tracking technology (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's software) to capture a player's body movement and transforms the image into on-screen interaction as control method, the first game device which interfaces with a computer entertainment system.
Since its launch in July 2003, EyeToy has received a number of awards and public recognition for its outstanding innovation in the console game field.
