Pentax announces entry-level DSLR

Pentax has announced the Pentax *ist DL digital SLR camera, a 6.1 megapixel digital SLR aimed at entry-level DSLR users. It's a lot like the *ist DS, but with some cost-cutting features to make it more affordable. It will include a 2.5 inch monitor on the back, 3-point autofocus, and a new Auto ISO setting.

Featuring 6.1 effective megapixels and compatibility with most interchangeable PENTAX lenses, the *ist DL will ship in July 2005 with the smc PENTAX DA 18-55mm digital lens for under $800 US.
