In the "Today @ PC World" blog, Tracey Capen notes the differences between Nikon's new D50 and their popular D70 digital SLR cameras. Noting that price competition has caused Nikon to come out with a smaller, cheaper digital SLR, Tracey notes what features were removed from the D70 to achieve the new price point ($899 with lens).
In some areas, the D50 comes out ahead. The LCD on the back is slightly larger, and the newer camera produces brighter, more colorful images. One concern for both cameras is the amount of dust that settles on the CCD.
