Nikon has posted firmware update v1.5 for the Coolpix 8400 and v1.7 for the Coolpix 8800. The updates remove the 2 second shutter-release delay with the self-timer using the remote control. The self-timer can now be used with Fireworks show, Museum, and Sports Scene modes. The updates also add support for PictureProject COOLPIX remote control and 6 GB Microdrives. Finally, the updates fix problems with the Quick response feature.
