Reuters is quoting a Nikon executive saying the company is considering increasing production capacity at its Thailand digital camera factory to meet demand. Senior managing director Makoto Kimura said the global digital SLR market should exceed 4 million this year, but Nikon hasn't decided the timing and size of the factory expansion.
Nikon is second only to Canon in the DSLR market, and analysts expect Nikon's D50 (at right) and D70s to increase the company's market share.
