Allume Systems has introduced ZipMagic Deluxe 9.0, a utility that uses Stuffit technology to reduce the size of already-compressed JPEG photos up to an additional 30%. Allume claims that there is no loss in quality. Users can then zip the photos using existing programs to compress the files even further. Another feature of ZipMagic is that users don't need to de-compress the files to work with them. Zipped files can be opened and worked on in exactly the same way as files stored in a regular Windows folder. ZipMagic also includes ways to prevent users from receiving viruses in zipped files.
ZipMagic Deluxe 9.0 is available for $39.99 to Windows users at the Allume website and select retailers. Upgrade pricing is available here.
