Pentax has announced 300 job cuts to save the company about 184.7 million yen. The cuts will be carried out by March 2007 as part of a larger cost-cutting plan to save the company 617 million yen. Pentax had 5244 employees at the end of last September.
Pentax isn't the only digital camera manufacturer to slash its workforce. Olympus announced earlier this month that it would cut 4000 jobs.
