The day after a disappointing earnings report, Olympus President Tsuyoshi Kikukawa stated that the company will reduce 30% of the camera unit workforce this year. Olympus hopes to save some 13 billion yen (about $123 million) between now and March 2006. Kikukawa said the cuts would mainly come from Chinese factories.
