When Nikon announced the new D70s digital SLR camera, they promised us they'd update the D70 to bring much of the D70s functionality to the D70. Today, Nikon has made good on that promise and released firmware update 2.0 for the Nikon D70 DSLR.
Among the issues addressed in this firmware update are improved performance of the 5-area AF system, menu re-designs, page size settings when printing to a PictBridge printer, and a change in the way the number of exposures remaining is calculated. In addition, Nikon has changed the default clock setting so you can set the clock date to before December 31, 2004. The update also addresses an issue that caused communication problems between the camera and a computer running the Nikon Capture Camera Control.
