LEICA_DIGITALMODULR.jpgTwo years to the month from when it was first announced, Leica has finally announced a ship date for the Digital Modul-R. In a letter to "Leica friends," the company stated that the quality of images taken with the unit "is even better than we expected." And we expect a lot: it's a ten megapixel digital back that is designed to fit regular production Leica R8 and R9 cameras. It will turn them into the world's first hybrid 35mm cameras that can be used for digital or analog pohtography. You can get all the specs on the unit directly from Leica.
