The OpenRAW Working Group has launched OpenRAW.org, a website "designed to solve issues critical to the future of photography."
The site provides documentation on RAW camera formats. The group is looking to manufacturers to publicly document all of their RAW image file formats: past, present, and future. They feel this will give digital photographers a "maximum set of processing choices and the best guarantee of future image decoding." There are already instances of encrypted data in RAW files and dropped support by manufacturers for older camera models. The OpenRAW solution seeks to prevent more such problems.
