According to research company IDC, Canon had a slim lead over all other digital camera manufacturers, gaining the top spot with 12.63 million digital cameras shipped worldwide. This equates to 17.1% of the market. Sony claimed 16.7% with 12.32 million digital cameras sold, and Kodak shippped 8.71 million digital cameras to achieve an 11.8% market share.
The figures include digital SLR cameras and point-and-shoot cameras.
