Sigma has announced the launch of another digicam-specific lens. This time, it's the 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM. The lens is designed to match the size of the image sensor in digital SLR cameras and features two SLD glass elements to compensate for magnification chromatic aberration. The minimum focusing distance is 40mm to infinity. The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) design provides "quiet high-speed autofocus with full-time manual focus override," according to the Sigma press release. The lens has fittings available for Sigma, Nikon, and Canon bodies. Price and availability are TBA.
