Panasonic has revealed the Lumix DMC-LS1, a 4 MP camera with 3x optical zoom and the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer). The camera also features 14 MB of built-in memory.
The MEGA O.I.S. funtion will automatically detect and optically compensate for movement, even when taking telephoto or macro shots. There are two modes within the function: Mode 1 constantly detects movements and continuously compensates for them. In Mode 2, the lens is moved at the moment the shutter button is pressed, in order to capture the image as close to the center of the lens as possible.
The camera also has an auto angle detection feature, which records whether an image was taken horizontally or vertically and displays it accordingly when viewed on the camera's LCD or a connected TV.
The camera will be available in April for $229.95.
