According to the latest forecast by Lyra Research, worldwide digital still cameras will surpass 100 million units in 2008. In 2004, there were more than 63 million units shipped, up more than 35% from 2003. For the first time ever, Europe became the largest market in terms of unit shipments. The United States and Japan are the second and third markets, respectively.
