Kodak has introduced a service allowing users to submit digital print orders over the Internet and pick them up at their local retail store the same day. They've been trying out the service in test markets since November. The services uses Kodak Picture Maker kiosks, and is also used with in-store digital minilabs.
"The immediacy of digital photography is extending beyond the camera LCD," said Patrick King, general manager of Consumer Output; and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company. "With our new service, people can go from taking pictures to having high quality prints in hand -- made by their local retailer - in a matter of hours. This gives consumers another quick and convenient printing choice to best fit their individual needs, while at the same using our retail partners' printing capabilities to drive store traffic."
