Concord has announced today that the new 5 MP Concord 5042 will retail for $99, making it the first 5 MP camera to break the $100 barrier. The company also introduced the $129 Concord 5040.

The Concord 5042 features a 4x digital zoom and a 1.5" LCD. The camera can take AVI movies at up to 15 fps. The tiny camera is .8 inches wide and 2.2 inches high. The unit has 16 MB of on-board memory and can also use SD cards. The camera should be available in the first quarter of this year.

The Concord 5040 also has a 4x digital zoom and 16 MB on-board memory, but takes 30 fps MPEG-4 movies and has a slightly larger (1.9") LCD screen. The all-metal body is available in a variety of colors: Papaya Orange, Wine Red, Aqua Blue, Royal Blue, Champagne Gold, and Silver. The camera should be available in April.
