The Camera and Imaging Products Association (CIPA) predicts a 20.8% growth in worldwinde digital camera shipments. Although this represents a good rate, the 2004 digicam shipments growth over 2003 was at 37.7%. Digital SLR's seemed to increase sharply last year, growing 167% over last year. Digital SLR cameras accounted for 20% on a value basis and for 7% on a volume basis of overall digital camera shipments in December.
