Canon has announced a smaller. lighter Rebel -- the 8 MP Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT SLR. This new model adds resolution, speed, and more creative control to Canon's popular Digital Rebel. The camera is compatible with all of Canon's EF lenses. You can purchase the camera body alone, or with Canon's EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens. The camera body-only kit will be available for $899, and sold with the lens for $999. Meanwhile, Canon has dropped the price of the original Digital Rebel (with lens) to $799.
