Consumer Reports tested seven devices specifically manufactured to produce 4x7 shots from your digital camera. They looked at ink cartridge lifespan, cost of printing, and the quality of prints produced. They found that the quality was good to excellent from all printers tested, but not quite as good as those from newer inkjet printers. The $189 HP Photosmart 375 was top rated, but also had the most expensive prints at about 50 cents each. Epson's $200 Picturemate delivered photos at 20 cents per print.
