An article in the Springfield, MO, News-Leader reports that it may be cheaper for individuals to have digital photos printed a retailers like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, or Best Buy than to churn them out on a printer at home. The retailers use a laser-based process instead of the ink jet technology or thermal printing. The prints produced at retailers look and feel more like "real" pictures and may last longer, as well.
