Lonnie Brown, the Associate Editor for The Ledger, picks two digital cameras this Christmas: the Concord 5345z and Sony DSC-P41.
The Concord 5345z features a "niceshot" mode with 19 predefined settings, such as portrait, scenery, children, candlelight portrait, night-scene portrait, pet, food, fireworks, text, monochrome, retro (sepia tones) and twilight. It's a 5 MP camera with a 3x optical zoom, NiMH batteries, and built-in flash. It lists for $299.99.
The Sony DSC-P41 is about $120 less, but doesn't have an optical zoom. The 4 MP camera does have a 3x digital zoom and it can take 30 frame-per-second 640x480 video (with sound) when using a Memory Stick Pro. The camera also has a "burst mode," which can take four pictures in about five seconds.
